“The work with the Japanese chisels has, in this project, been a way to come into close contact with the material, through a slow approach to the method of removing and adding, in a narrative of relief and ornamentation. The pieces have been created through an intuitive creative process, where composition and overall expression have emerged through negotiation during the making of the two components, whose construction is in Douglas fir and ornamentation in pine.”
