“In “SYMPOIESIS - Magical Encounters” magic is explored as a co-creating & collaborative entity, encouraged by the imaginary relations we make with our surroundings and the material presences we encounter.
My narrative is rooted in the attentiveness to surface expression. This I approach in a collaborative method of sculpting and carving in clay. To me, carving becomes a poetic and painterly process through which I can notice and embrace the essence and vibrancy of the ‘ceramic creature’ i’m creating, allowing its traits to be exposed on the sculpted clay-body, for the audience to explore. I cherish this tranformative quality in the relation between building with and removing clay”.
